How do you prep for you own teenagers photography session? Well, we took on the task like we do any other session. We planned the outfits and planned how the shoot would be the day of.
The Extreme Sports sessions have become a big part of Treadwell Photography, and in just a short time, so I knew we had to incorporate it in Drew's session as well.
Prepping for the session has two main parts; the technical aspect and the creative side. My Photography Certification helps me prepare for the technical lighting and the creative side, well, sometimes it comes during the session and sometimes I can see the final images even before the session begins.
Lighting for an image technically and executing it correctly is attributed to the long hours of studying and continuous learning. Becoming a Certified Professional Photographer was about raising the bar in El Paso, for clients to know that their photographer is trained professional and a licensed business.
I take pride in my small business and I wouldn't be where I am without my clients who believe in us and our desire to always provide the best!

Yes, I actually photographed my own son's images and we both left the session happy!
I decided two years ago to stop buying the BORING school images and take on the task to take my kids school pictures every year.
The day started off as normal and the sun was shining, as usual, on the westside of El Paso, TX. I decided to shoot indoors this year and to photograph Drew on the green screen for his ROTC Extreme Sports images as well. We went through 5, YES, 5 outfit changes to get what I wanted and Drew was happy to oblige.
My teenager, although adopted only 3 years ago by my husband and I, has been well prepped over the last couple of years in photography and loves his picture taken!
As you can tell, the camera LOVES him and more importantly, I LOVE taking his images for him. He is so appreciative of me and his comments to my images, "Mom, that is so cool!", "Mom, that is REALLY GOOD!", "Thank you Mom, for doing this for me," gives me a thankful attitude.
I feel blessed to have the ability to take my children's images and consider it an honor and not a chore to do so. I hope you see how much Drew enjoyed his session and how letting him wear his favorite hat and sweatshirt in his session MADE HIS DAY!
